How to get and submit form I-783 and FD-258?

At first, you have to download forms I-783 and FD-258. You will need copies of them. You will also have to make a cover letter that contains your full name, mailing address, and your signature.

For proof of identity, your fingerprints, date, and place of birth, and your name will be on the Form FD-258. You will require to assign a certified fingerprint scanning office like LiveScan. With the help of LiveScan, you can send off your application to the FBI electronically. It is essential to ensure that all 10 fingerprints on the FD-258 form are clear. Therefore, they request 2 copies. For obtaining your fingerprints, a fee of $20 is charged.

After that, mail in your forms I-783. Also, mail at least 2 copies of FD-258. The application fee is $18. You can pay it by using a credit card authorization form, or with a certified money order or check. For payment, you can’t use a personal or business check. In some cases, when the FBI has received the application, it can take up to 13 weeks to process.
